We support all major video tape formats and offer a comprehensive transfer service to transfer your legacy standard-definition footage from tape to either file or DVD. We adjust the image and sound to optimise the results as a standard. This is our most popular service.
We offer a high-definition service that allows us to transfer your HD-1080 footage to an HD Video file in either MP4 or ProRes422 format.
We can also transfer the footage to Blu-Ray to keep the high-definition resolution.
Our HD upscaling service is now standard on all transfers and allows us to take your standard definition footage and upscale this to full HD. We use a combination of broadcast converters to achieve high-quality results.
We can supply the resulting high-definition footage in MP4 or ProRes422 file format or professionally authored on Blu-Ray disk.
Legacy video recordings were typically recorded in a 4:3 aspect ratio, so when played back on a 16:9 widescreen TV black bands are visible on the left and right of the screen. Using our video processors, we can convert the 4:3 aspect ratio to 14:9, retaining 90% of the image but providing a near widescreen experience by reducing the black bands.
We can convert video material between PAL, NTSC and Secam (including French Secam ), making your footage playable worldwide.

If you have tapes that have become damaged due to poor storage or a faulty video machine, don't panic, as we have a stock of components that allow us to repair and splice tapes. These include VHS, VHS/C, Betamax, MiniDV, Video8, Hi8 and Digital8 tapes.
We offer a service to recover and transfer video material from DVD, MiniDVD-R and SD Cards.
If the Disk or Card is damaged, then we do have forensic software that allows us to recover the footage and convert it to either MP4, ProRes422, DVD or Blu-Ray
For video tapes we only charge for the hours captured across your tapes, meaning that if your tapes are only part recorded you pay less. From over 20 years of experience, we feel a good average is 75% tape full, however, this can vary significantly.
The calculator below is designed to give you an estimated cost based on an average record level of 75%, the slider allows you to play with the percentage if you think the tapes are all recorded to capacity.
As with all of our services we are more than happy to provide a quotation for the work before any work is started. If you wish to receive multiple outputs such as USB and DVD then please contact us for some special pricing.
The return shipment is not included in this estimated price and the estimated price is for our standard definition service, not HD upscaled.
